Greenhouse Upgrade

The University of Brighton appointed Colbran & Wingrove to renew an ageing greenhouse with a new hardwood timber frame design.

This weather-worn original greenhouse at the University of Brighton's Aldro Building has been completely renovated with a new hardwood Sapele framework, ironmongery, glazing and lead flashing.
To mitigate against temperature extremes, the roof glazing is solar control sealed units. Double glazed toughened safety glass has been installed to the three side elevations with openers on either side.
Internally, our team created new slatted worktops which have been varnished ready for use.
