Contemporary Orangery Extension

This Orangery has a sharp contemporary design which blends beautifully with the original property.

The owners of this property, which is located in a semi-rural area in East Sussex, commissioned Colbran & Wingrove to extend their home. They wanted an Orangery that would blend and harmonise with its surroundings and the existing property.

To achieve this, the design features mid-grey Anthracite aluminium doors and windows which echo the tones of the property’s slate roof, along with a softly coloured render and an Indian stone patio which brings added warmth to the overall scheme.

The masonry construction of the new Orangery features a high specification insulated roof and generous pitched lantern along with expansive glazing. It has transformed former patio space creating a generous living space which provides fabulous views over the garden and beyond.

Will I Need Planning for an Orangery?

By making use of permitted development you may be able to add an Orangery without requiring planning permission but there are some rules as to the positioning and dimensions of Orangeries.

Permission is however, required for development within designated areas such as Conservation Areas.
