Residential Projects

Love to Lounge

Having completed work to reconfigure and refit the homeowners' kitchen-dining room (as seen here), Colbran & Wingrove were asked back to re-decorate their living room.

With a big collection of books, bespoke cabinetry was top of the list. Painted in the same colour as the walls and background of the wallpaper, it's a silent partner in the scheme.

Rather than renew the fireplace which had become marked and discoloured over time, it has been carefully cleaned and restored. The stone, now much brighter, sits confidently and draws the eye to this end of the room.

This project also involved essential preparation work. We took up the floorboards and insulated beneath. The sash windows were overhauled and plasterwork on the walls and the ceiling rose were made good. We also removed an old serving hatch and blocked up the space.
